Rocky Cape Lighthouse

Australia. Tasmania

The Rocky Cape Lighthouse was erected in 1968. It is a white square 9m high concrete tower, with a mains powered Chance Brothers 400mm catadioptric lens.

The ighthouse stands at 64 m above sea level and overlooks the stunning shoreline at Rocky Cape National Park. It was never manned, but still interesting as the AGA lantern contains a Chance Bros 400mm lens.

The lighthouse is in the Rocky Cape National Park.with the lighthouse grounds e grounds are open all year round.
Once inside the national park access is via unsealed roads. It is poorly signed so take to left fork to the shanty town then right. A National Park entry pass is required, but well worth it.
