Regeneration
The Chance Heritage Trust aims to restore and rejuvenate important industrial sites in Sandwell, preserving their rich history while driving social, economic, and cultural growth. By revitalising these spaces, the Trust aspires to honour the legacy of innovation, community, and craftsmanship, creating opportunities and inspiring pride for current and future generations.
Ambition for the Chance Glassworks
The Chance Heritage Trust is transforming the iconic Chance Glassworks into a vibrant urban village. This regeneration project combines history and innovation, bringing together spaces for living, learning, and community engagement. It celebrates the pioneering spirit of the Chance Brothers while providing a platform for skills development, cultural events, and modern amenities that reflect the needs of today.

Future Phases
The regeneration of the Chance Glassworks is a large and complex project, and the Trust is breaking it down into manageable phases:
- Phase One: Focus on the restoration of the iconic 7-storey building, the adjacent engineering workshop, and the yard area. This phase will include a mix of residential, enterprise, and educational spaces, creating a foundation for future development.
- Phase Two: Expand the project to include additional buildings and amenities, such as recreational facilities, public art installations, and further community spaces.
- Long-Term Vision: Develop the entire site into a thriving urban village that combines heritage preservation with modern innovation, creating a lasting legacy for the community and future generations.
