Isla Magdalena (Magdalena Island Lighthouse. Strait of Magellan)

Chile

We have minimal information regarding the lighthouse though the engineer in charge of the project was a Scotsman named George Slight who was responsible for many lighthouses in Chile. The lens itself was manufactured in 1900 by Chance Brothers of Smethwick, Birmingham, England though the construction of the lighthouse was not until 1902. I have not been able to find any further information regarding any replacement of the original lens so I presume it is still the original in situ.
