Huaniaoshan (Huaniao Shan, North Saddle Island Light)

Active; focal plane 89 m (292 ft); Fog siren (five blasts every 60 s). This is a staffed station. Huāniǎo Shān is the northernmost of the Mǎ'ān Islands, about 130 km (80 mi) southeast of Shànghǎi. The lighthouse, an important navigational aid for vessels arriving in Shànghǎi from the south, was listed by the provincial government as a cultural monument in 1997. There is ferry transportation to the island, and the lighthouse is accessible by road. Located on the northern tip of the island. Site open, tower closed. Other It may well still have the original Chance Brothers of Smethwick near Birmingham optic still in situ, looking at some of the pictures on the internet this seems to show the first order optic however I have been unable to confirm what date these photographs were taken though they do appear to be quite recent.
