Garoskagi Lighthouse (Gardskagi, Gardjskagi)

Iceland

The lighthouse is situated on the Reykjanes peninsula just north of Keflavik airport and at the southern end of Faxafloi Bay in which the capital Reykjavik is situated. The lighthouse replaced an earlier light built in 1897 which has now been restored and is used as a bird observatory.
The present tower was lit on September 10th 1944 and used the optic from the old one which I believe still remains in situ.
