Cape Sierra Leone (Aberdeen)

Sierra Leone

Built by the British the Lighthouse is one of West Africa's oldest and sits at the entry point to the Sierra Leone River and Freetown.
Notes say the lighthouse was built by Chance Brothers of Smethwick Birmingham however I am unable to confirm this though they definitely supplied the optic in 1884.
The lighthouse is now abandoned and the optic removed. The lighthouse condition is very poor and neglected at present.
