Cape Rachade Lighthouse (Tanjung Tuan)

Malaysia

The lighthouse is located at Cape Rachado 20 km south of Port Dickson overlooking the Straits of Malacca
It is believed to be the oldest lighthouse in the country and the site allegedly dates back to when the Portugese ruled in the 16th century.
The present lighthouse was constructed in 1863 under British rule and though some information says it has a first order lens it appears in Chance Brothers of Smethwick near Birmingham's order book as a second order lens.
The lighthouse is surrounded by forest and is in a wildlife reserve. Access is by a 2km walk and entrance to the tower is by arrangement with the lighthouse keeper.
