Belle Isle North End Lighthouse

Canada

It was erected on the northeast point of Belle Isle in 1905. It stands 90 feet above the highwater mark, and 210 feet back from the water’s edge. It was an iron tower painted red 55 feet high from the base to the lantern. Also, a rectangular alarm building was painted red and housed a diaphone for blasting on foggy weather. In 1908 it was encased in concrete with six flying buttresses providing more stability. It is no longer a manned stationed. The lighthouse was declared a Recognized Federal Heritage Building in 1989.
The Fresnel lens was supplied by Chance Bros and CO and the Canadian Fog Signal of Toronto
