We’re hiring: Business & Operations Manager

We are seeking an experienced professional to fill this role, working across all aspects of the Trust. This includes administration of Board and other meetings, funding applications and grant administration, and record-keeping and systems management, including financial processes. The role also involves monitoring and supporting engagement activities, event delivery, social media, enquiry handling, and other general administration associated with the Trust’s day-to-day operations.

About the role

You would be the first point of contact on our info@ address, manage our filing and financial processes, minute Board meetings, and support funding applications and volunteer rostering. A big part of the job is the Old School House, the 1845 building we took a lease on in April: helping raise the funds to refurbish it, then bringing it into use for lettings, bookings and heritage tours.

The details

  • Salary: £20,756 (pro rata, based on £32,000 per annum), plus a group stakeholder pension scheme
  • Hours: 24 hours a week, 3 days
  • Contract: Fixed term for 18 months, with potential for extension subject to funding
  • Location: Smethwick and home-based, with some travel. Because of the operational nature of the role, you will need to live within a commutable distance of the Old School House, Spon Lane – roughly a 30-minute drive or 10-mile radius
  • Leave: 17 days a year (3 of which may need to be taken over Christmas and New Year)
