Granton Middle Pier Lighthouse

United Kingdom

The light is situated on Granton middle pier and was used to guide ships along the Firth of Forth into Granton Harbour. It is a very simple design and housed the 4th order optic made by Chance Brothers of Smethwick near Birmingham in 1869.
The light was taken out of use in 1970 and the lens was removed.
The lighthouse gained Category B listing on 28/11/1989 and was restored by Edinburgh Marina Holdings who are developing the waterfront in the area. The restoration project on the lighthouse was completed by December 2019.
