Sheshan (Shaweishan) Island

China

The lighthouse is constructed on the top of a small island approximately 35 kilometres east of Chongmingdao and northeast of the mouth of the North harbour branch. It serves as the landfall light for the Yangtze River and Shanghai.
This is apparently the original lighthouse that was prefabricated in Britain before being shipped out in kit form to be rebuilt on the Island.
The University of Bristol have several pictures of the lighthouse and the workers involved in it's construction on their website.
The island has a naval installation so access is prohibited.
