Indonesia
I have been unable to find much information regarding this lighthouse.
It stands on an island in the centre of the busy entrance to the bay of Jakarta.
The prefabricated "kit" was made in the Netherlands and the second order optic was made by Chance Brothers of Smethwick near Birmingham. It appears in Chances order books of 1862 as Edam Java but I have been unable to confirm if this was in use before 1881 on the island in some form or only came into use in 1881 with the present lighthouse.
The information I have is that the lighthouse is still manned and visitors are often allowed to climb the 225 steps to the top for views of the island. I have been unable to find any photographs or any information regarding the present optic in use.
I have made an assumption that the original Chance lens has been removed though it may still be in situ.
