The light was lit on 19 March 1878. Originally the lighthouse had a subsidiary light and a second gallery below the existing gallery. The subsidiary light was a fixed fourth order light with two red sectors. It was discontinued in July 1941. Location of this lens?
The total height is 34m. The lighthouse was automated and de-manned in 1985.
The second order lens was removed in 2009 and gifted to the WA Museum Geraldton where it is on permanent display. A modern light has replaced the lens.
