Llanddwyn Island (Anglesey)

Located at the west end of a tidal island first appeared in 1846. The towers shape is similar to that of windmills in the area which may indicate it was built by a windmill mason. The lantern, fittings and adaption of tower cost £250 7s 6d. The lantern window measures 2m 0.61m. The optic, silver plated reflector and Fresnbel lens, dated 1861, were in use into the 1970's. The original lighting was by six Argand lamps with reflectors
