Grenjanes Lighthouse

Iceland

The lighthouse was built during WW II but not activated until 1945. It is located at the east entrance to Lonafjordur about 5 kilometres north of the fishing town of Porshofn. There appears to be no road access to the site.

Light Character One long 2s white flash every 20s.
Lighthouse Markings 19 metre square white tower with balcony, red lantern and roof. From a distance it appears to have vertical stripes on each face.

Other Very little information is available on this lighthouse but the ITA have stated that their lighthouses are now automated and all old or outdated equipment has been removed so I have therefore made the assumption that is likely the Chance lens is no longer in situ.
