The light is situated on the eastern side of the Yangon River estuary and was built in 1869.
It appears to have been abandoned at some point but is believed to have been recently restored and is now back in use.

Light Character White light 4 s on 2 s off.
Lighthouse Markings The lighthouse is a 105 foot high cast iron skeletal tower with lantern, gallery and weather vane. It has a single storey keepers house raised up from the base with surrounding veranda. The lantern house appears to be white and black and the keepers house a reddish brown.

Other Apparently the site can be reached by 4WD but only in the dry season. It is unconfirmed if the chance lens is still at the lighthouse but as the lighthouse has been out of use and only recently renovated it is likely the lens will have been replaced.
