* 1865 tower ordered from Hennet, Spinks and Co of Bridgwater England
* 1867 Tower and lantern arrived in Brisbane. Contract for building the lighthouse awarded to W.P.Clark
* 1868 29th June light first lit
* 1985-86 lighthouse automated and demanned.
* 2001 Bustard Head Lighthouse Association formed by former keeper Stuart Buchanan, obtaining 20year lease to restore and maintain the lighthouse.
