Bjarnarey Lighthouse

Iceland

Again as with most Icelandic lighthouses I have been unable to find very much information. The light is situated on Bjarnarey (Bear Island) which is an uninhabited island just off Cape Kollumuli marking the south side entrance to the bay of Vopnafjordur in Eastern Iceland.
I have been unable to establish if the original Chance optic is still in situ but based on information from the Icelandic Transport Authority that all old and outdated equipment was removed when the lights were automated I have presumed that it would have been removed.
A mug is available to purchase showing the lighthouse from Etsy.
